Tony has been painting for a short time after practicing as a potter and ceramic artist for many years. He loves the abstract energy of abstract painting and calls himself an "abstract realist". He loves the process of painting, putting marks and colours on the canvas and gradually building them up to see what emerges. He generally does not engage in any planning, but uses the process to allow the abstract imagery to emerge. He is particularly excited by the "energy flow"  that can happen when he is absorbed "in the frame" of the process of painting. He has works in collections in Sydney and Melbourne and has held one successful exhibition in Sydney in 2008 which sold very well. He continues to study painting and is enjoying producing works.
