In the spirit of traditions now gone from our minds but not from our hearts, my work is a personal journey of seeking to remember what used to be commonplace. With the steady, yet unstoppable speeding up of our lives, Kain finds painting and drawing to be a way for people to commune, while allowing each individual to continue a fulfilling solo journey. Painting is a special process for an artist. While Kain began as a purely representational figurative artist, he has since spanned off into the study of metaphysical principles in his work. Kain acquired his training in drawing from university, but he is largely a self-taught painter. Adopting the techniques of the old masters, Kain uses many subtle layers of glazes.
